The staff at The Groomery cares for a variety of different breeds of all ages.

In the spring of 2020 The Groomery, with a $25,000 grant awarded by MEDC, invested over $70,000 in a complete remodel. Our vision was the comfort, safety, health, and artistic creation of the clients and community we serve.

You and your pet will appreciate our relaxed and calming spa environment. From the moment you walk in the door you will notice the gentle sounds of water flowing in the fountain located in our retail area. We enhance the spa experience with the use of pet safe calming essential oils diffusing all day.

During your pets bathing we have implemented the use of an all-natural, ecofriendly, ethical line of products by Showeasons “Naturals”. These are products that contain pet safe essential oils and were created with your pet’s skin, fur, and emotional health in mind.

Every pet during bathing is treated to a hydrotherapy massage to promote circulation and relaxation. This hydrotherapy system promotes deep cleaning of the pets’ coat, reduces energy consumption, and conserves water at the same time. During dry time, your pet will enjoy a deeper tissue massage while releasing loose hair and dander from their coat and skin.

Our groomers use a clipper vacuum system while clipping your pet’s hair. This clipper system is equipment that considers the health and safety of the lungs of pets, groomers, and human guests. It immediately sucks up the hair and dander entering in the air. Clients, pets, and groomers can breathe easier and more safely in our facility.

For the safety and security of all puppy’s, senior pets, clients, and groomers alike, we use the Groomer’s Helper pet safety and positioning system. Groomer’s Helper gives pet owners peace of mind that their pet is safe and secure on a grooming table and cannot lose their footing and slip off. Groomer’s Helper gives puppies, senior pets, and pets of any age the security to relax and enjoy time spent with their favorite groomer. For our senior pets, this system also allows them to have the support that they may need when standing for grooming. This system also allows clients and groomers alike to stay out of harms way if a pet has fear aggression or aggression issues.

Creative Grooming

The ability to offer clients a unique one-of-a-kind creative hair coloring and nail art option sets our company apart in most of today’s grooming experiences.

Creative grooming highlights the creativity of an individual pet parent and artist. Capri and Lance transform their pet clients into artwork through creative clipping/scissoring and the use of pet hair color and accessories.

Pet hair coloring originally started out with pet artists using food coloring, beet dye or Kool-Aid to color a pet’s fur. Currently the pet safe products are limited only by your imagination. The art created can be something as simple as a one-color stencil to a poodle that looks like a tie-dyed rainbow.

We offer permanent color (lasts about six months), semi-permanent color (lasting 8-10 washes), color shampoo (lasting 2-5 bathes), and one-time color pens and chalk that wash out with the next bath.

We use a vegan product that contains no animal-related materials and is FDA approved food grade coloring products by Opawz. Opawz products are canine/feline safe and are approved by the National Association of Professional Creative Groomers.

Soft Paws Nail Caps

Developed by veterinarian, Dr. Toby Wexler, Soft Paws has been on the market since 1990. The nail caps not only come in many colors to be creative but help protect pets, their loved ones and home belongings from problem canine and feline scratching. Long sharp nails can cause damage to hardwood floors, doors, walls, furniture and carpet. The nail caps effectively blunt the pet’s nails so their ability to scratch surfaces is significantly reduced.

Soft Paws nail caps can also help pets cause less damage to their skin when dealing with allergic skin conditions and chronic scratching by blunting the nails, so less damage occurs when pets scratch. This can also help their skin heal faster.

Nail caps also protect owners and loved ones from scratched skin by pets that jump. Protecting elderly owners with fragile skin, diabetics, along with owners taking blood thinners.
